Kids Programs & Activities

The mission of the Saint Matthew Children Ministry is:

  • To invite kids and their families to faith in a living God,
  • To grow and equip kids and their families to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ,
  • To serve kids and their families by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Children Ministry we offer several faith-growing opportunities:

Promiseland, our version of Sunday School, is for kids in Preschool through 5th grade. Our goals for Promisland are:

  1. Kids will know that God loves them no matter what.

  2. Kids learn they can trust God no matter what.

  3. Kids learn they need to treat others the way they want to be treated.

We provide a caring, nurturing environment where children learn biblical truths in a child- targeted, relevant and creative way.

Promiseland activities include games, fellowship, crafts, snacks, music, small group and large group time and lots of fun!  Large group time teaches the weekly Bible lesson through skits and games. During small group, kids will discuss the Bible lesson and learn life application through discussion, games and prayer.

Promiseland is staffed by over 25 volunteers each Sunday including Shepherds (teachers) who make a weekly commitment to build a trusting relationship with our young disciples.

Registration: To register for Promiseland, complete a registration form. Forms are also available through the church office or contact the Children Ministry Team Leader Angie Kavert at 925-932-1955 x116
