Worship and Teaching at Saint Matthew

One of our core values at Saint Matthew is “Life-transforming worship: inviting new friends to an encounter with the Living God” (John 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:20).

Much of our congregational life revolves around Sunday morning worship. It is a time to:

  • Connect to God, be filled with the Spirit,
  • Be fed with the Word and share in Holy Communion,
  • Pray and be prayed for by our prayer ministry team,
  • Be sent out to be ministers to others in our daily lives.

All of our pastors are dedicated to teaching for the purpose of strengthening discipleship in the lives of those who come to Saint Matthew.  We teach from the theoretical to the practical using the Holy Scriptures knowing that all people learn differently.

We use contemporary methods (projection screens, modern music, video, drama and the visual arts) around the traditional seasons of the Church Year.  We have an order of worship (liturgy) which varies by season.

Whether we are confessing and reflecting or rejoicing in celebration of the mighty acts of God in our lives, we are always worshiping together as a community, led by the Holy Spirit.
