A bible-based study and prayer group.
They greet every Wednesday morning with reading God's word and by asking for His direction and guidance to glean what He wants us to know. Their time is divided between directed Bible reading and prayer. This group is always open to new participants and invites anyone who wants to explore God's daily presence and the application of His word to your daily lives to join us.

Begins January 19th: Join your fellow Saint Matthew women for a small group gathering to discuss a mixture of articles, theological reflections, devotions, and stories of comfort and challenge that help you to grow in faith and engage in ministry and action. We use the ELCA Gather magazine as the foundation for our discussion.

Come design and create clothes for those in need- girls' dresses and shorts for boys. We meet once a month to sew, but you can also just cut out fabric, pin on trims, put in elastic, or iron. Join in this labor of love!
We have supplies ready to go, but always need gently used sheets and pillowcases as well as any trims and fabrics you might have or wish to donate!
Please contact Sue Lape for more information.
The Piecemakers Quilters have been meeting at Saint Matthew for more than 20 years. The quilters gather weekly - stitching together quilts made with love, service to others, and to God.
Join your fellow Saint Matthew women for a small group casual gathering for women of all levels. You may work on your own project, or help make quilts and receiving blankets for the Layette Ministry.
Please contacts Sharon Mazanec for more information.
The Saint Matthew Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of knitters and crocheters who create beautiful prayer shawls- many including the triune stitch representing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The shawls are prayed over and given to those in need of being wrapped in God's love, the abiding peace of Jesus, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
This casual group is for all levels. Beginners are welcome, and we will help guide you along! Shawls are given to the Saint Matthew Care Ministry to distribute as the work is completed.
Please contact Ann Dunn for more information.

This group has a service gathering on Tuesday mornings. On the second Friday of each month, we provide a meal for YEAH!, a year round shelter for 18-25 year olds. We also prepare snack bags to carry a person through the day. Our other service is organizing the all congregation Layette Ministry contributions for the County Hospital in Martinez.
