Contra Costa Foster Friends
Contra Costa Foster Friends (CCFF) is dedicated to supporting foster families in meaningful and lasting ways. Did you know that nearly half of the families who open their hearts and homes to fostering choose not to do so again after their first placement? Many feel unsupported or disconnected, making it difficult to continue fostering. CCFF exists to change that statistic by providing the care, resources, and community support that caregivers need in order to continue making a positive impact in the lives of children who desperately need the love and stability of a family.
GROW Concord
GROW (Grass Roots Outreach Warriors) is committed to providing food, hydration, hygiene care, and access to essential resources, including mental and physical health services, for those in need. On any given night, approximately 3,000 people experience homelessness in Contra Costa County. Through compassionate relationships and dedicated support, GROW helps our neighbors receive both the immediate care they need and the long-term assistance they deserve.
Love A Child - Bay Point
Established in 1992, Love a Child Missions’ Homeless Recovery Shelter provides a safe haven for women and children experiencing homelessness, offering them the support needed to achieve financial stability and independence. Their mission is to "share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing shelter and rehabilitative services for homeless women and children." Love a Child’s ministry extends beyond housing, providing essential educational opportunities and connections to practical resources for the most vulnerable in Contra Costa County. As the largest emergency shelter for women and children in the county, they play a crucial role in empowering families on their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.
Points of Light - Oakland
Points of Light Oakland is a nonprofit organization deeply committed to sharing the love of Christ with the children and youth of Oakland. Despite there being over 500 churches in the city, none have a full-time youth leader to provide consistent guidance and mentorship. Points of Light is committed to bridging that gap, offering support and connection to help the youth of Oakland live deeply formed lives rooted in the love of Christ.
Young Life Middle Eurasia
Young Life Middle EurAsia (YLMEA) brings hope and joy to young people by building friendships, creating brave spaces, and serving communities with the love of Christ. In areas currently affected by conflict and hardship, they offer support, encouragement, and belonging. Committed to living out the gospel in concrete ways, YLMEA facilitates care for the vulnerable, fosters unity, and walks alongside young people with compassion and dedication. Through presence, service, and unwavering love, YLMEA reflects the heart of Christ, bringing light and hope to the world. Saint Matthew has a long-held, strong partnership with YLMEA, actively engaging in their mission through leadership and action committees. The church hosts annual in-person gatherings, participates in monthly Zoom meetings, and supports YLMEA leaders through prayer and meaningful relationships.
Monument Crisis Center
Founded in 2003, Monument Crisis Center has grown from a small food pantry into a vital resource serving nearly 17,000 individuals in Contra Costa County. While food distribution remains central, MCC also offers Resource & Referral Services, Health & Wellness, Youth Education & Empowerment, Senior Moments, and Community Engagement & Workforce Development. These programs provide essential support, fostering independence and stability. Saint Matthew is proud to have partnered with MCC since its inception.
Friends Feeding Friends
Friends Feeding Friends is a community service ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, founded in memory and honor of Sarah Jean Deniston, who, at four years old, had a dream to help hungry people. The food pantry serves nearly 50,000 people yearly in Contra Costa County. Food drop off barrels can be found on the Saint Matthew Campus in front of the main entrance to the sanctuary.
ARM of Care
ARM of Care utilizes Art, Recreation, and Movement to empower those who have been, or are at risk of being, commercially sexually trafficked and exploited. The organization’s mission is to break the cycle of exploitation and provide survivors with tools for a brighter future. They are also passionate about educating the community on the realities and risks of human trafficking.
Winter Nights
Winter Nights is a rotating shelter for families experiencing homelessness. Unlike many other shelters, they allow the entire family unit to remain together. The core intention of the organization is to connect families to the resources necessary to find permanent housing and financial stability. Additionally, their safe parking program provides secure overnight parking for individuals and families who live in their vehicles. Saint Matthew is proud to host Winter Nights annually.
Jewish Family and Community Services East Bay
JFCS provides comprehensive social and mental health services to individuals and families in Contra Costa County. They help with refugee resettlement, immigration and legal assistance, early childhood mental health services, and senior care.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to seniors and homebound individuals. Volunteers provide not only food but also companionship and safety checks, helping recipients maintain independence and combat isolation. This service enhances the well-being of some of Contra Costa County's most vulnerable members.
