Project Peace: Day of Service

Project Peace: Day of Service - August 28th

Project Peace: Day of Service - August 28th

What is a Day of Service?

Come get your hands dirty! We've got all kinds of projects where we could use your help! All you need to do is register and show up to help with projects for 3 hours on a Saturday morning.

Our Day of Service connects East Bay faith-based groups and community members with schools and non-profits. We tackle their needs to help support work in education, homelessness, youth development, and more.

Our vision is for a more economically and socially sustainable East Bay, and we believe that begins with rolling up our sleeves and working together in our local community. We come together across backgrounds and take ownership of the communities we live in.

What does a Day of Service look like?

Typical activities include:

  • Landscaping

  • Book sorting

  • Cleaning

  • Organizing

  • Painting

  • Bringing donated items per social service provider requests

You can look forward to:

Getting your hands dirty addressing real needs, right here in your neighborhood.

Learning about great work happening at your site.

Coming together to serve our shared community with people from different backgrounds.

Important Reminders

1) This event is free, but sites have limited volunteer spots. Please register in advance so that you (and your friends) can be sure to serve at the site that most interests you.

2) Be sure to wear work clothes and comfortable shoes. Bring your own water and sunscreen.

3) Children need to be registered (except Littles under 5). Please check posted age requirements.

4) There will be no childcare, but supervised children are welcome at most sites unless posted otherwise. Please check the site description as some locations are ages 8+ only with an adult.

5) Day of Service is rain or shine, so come prepared - see you there!
